What a great way to end the 425 Madison Series! I really enjoyed this story and especially loved the heroine, Hanna-Rae, who continually stepped out of her comfort zone to create the life she wanted to live.
Hanna-Rae had so many wonderful qualities about her I just loved. She may be visually impaired, but she never let that affect her love for dance. She has struggled with her personal life, but when a contest gives her a fresh start and an opportunity to go after something she has wanted forever, she doesn’t hesitate to take the chance and see where fate may bring her. I absolutely loved how she put herself out there, battling through the insecurities, and didn’t let her visual impairment stop her from really seeing everything around her, but what was most impressive was how she helped those around her see things in a new way.
Matt was an interesting hero for me at first, but once he meets Hanna-Rae it was easy to see what a great guy he was. I loved his devotion to his mother and sister and can’t say enough about how the author portrayed his relationship with Hanna-Rae. Never once does her sight issues stop Matt from wanting to show her Manhattan and ultimately everything that life has to offer.My thoughts dart to Matt and our day together and I realize that it had taken a day. A single day to fall in love with the idea that I am capable of creating a new life for myself. Sightseeing in Manhattan hadn’t made me fall in love with Matt, but it had completely captured my heart and proved that the world is big and wide and there is so much of it I want to see and experience.
One of the things that really worked in this book was the supporting characters. Hanna-Rae’s two roommates were exactly what she needed to help kick-start her new life in New York, I just adored Matt’s sister, and I especially loved everything about the rescue shelter where Matt and Hanna-Rae officially meet. There really wasn’t more than a couple of cameos of other characters from the 425 Madison Series, but it was nice to see a couple of characters pop up.
This was a great way to end this series. This book can be read as a standalone and would make a nice addition on a summer TBR!
