Summer in the city...
Kurt
She’s smart, hot, and funny. My dream girl.
There’s just one problem. She’s also my best bud’s little sister.
The sparks have always been there, but law school had to come first. Now, we’re all back in the city and the same sparks fly every time I run into her.
She needs a job and I need an assistant at the law firm. What could go wrong?
I don’t know if I can hide my feelings any longer.
I know I shouldn’t go there, but I can’t help it.
Corina
My brother's back in town, and I offer to share my awesome apartment. Imagine my surprise when his best friend Kurt walks in.
He’s still tall, dark, and handsome, and I can’t deny the pull.
Working together only complicates things. Long days and nights in the office can be dangerous.
When we’re not at the office, he’s always hanging around my apartment. To see my brother. Yeah, right.
All I know is, summer in the city is about to get a lot hotter.
After all, 425 Madison Avenue is the perfect place to fall in love.
*Each story is completely standalone.
A second chance with your brother’s best friend…this was a cute story with two of my favorite tropes!
From the moment Kurt enters Corina’s apartment for the first time you could feel the tension between these two come to life. It’s obvious that the old feelings are still there, but that whole “brother’s best friend” thing gets in the way. Of course, they end up giving in to their desire and now don’t know what to do about it…especially when “just this once” keeps turning into “just this once more.”
Of the two I did like Kurt much more than I did Corina. Kurt may have wanted to keep things quiet at first, but he quickly comes to realize that his feelings run deep and he’s willing to fight for what he wants, even if it means having to deal with Liam, Corina’s over-protective big brother who is also his best friend. Corina’s reactions to the situation at times had me frustrated – and I kind of wish her issues from her past relationship were brought more in to the story which, for me, would have made more sense when it came to what I considered some trust issues. But still, these two were cute together and easily had you on board with them getting their happy ever after.
I really liked Corina’s brother and her family. Liam was a great big brother and I loved his reaction when he found out about Corina and Kurt’s relationship. Corina’s mom had me cracking up and I loved how she saw right through things and offered some great advice to Corina.
This was another fun read in the 425 Madison Series, which overall has been entertaining and had some great stories. This book can easily be read as a stand alone though since the building and quick cameos of characters are all that really tie this series together.
Overall, a fun, quick read that doesn’t get too deep and leaves you with a cute happy ever after.
