This series just keeps getting better and better! Nyx Halliwell has crafted a story that is easy to read, with a mystery that keeps you guessing, and a cast of characters – both living and corporeal - that will have you wanting to move to Thornhollow!
Ava Fantome is one of my favorite heroines and I find myself liking her even more as this series progresses. She’s loyal and brave, funny and smart, and most definitely the person you want around if you are having any ghost issues! I love how she is coming into her own with both her wedding planning as well as her gown design, but what I love most is how she has started to really embrace her powers, refusing to back down from any ghostly challenge, and how she genuinely cares for all the spirits she helps. I love the slow burn relationship that started with Logan and Ava and was excited to see them moving their relationship forward…ahem, not nice putting the stop to things at first, not nice at all!
Logan follows me to the elevator. “What’s going on? Did I miss something important?”
“Just a usual day in the life of Ava Fantome.” I smile at him and peck his cheek as we wait for the doors to slide open. “Full of ghosts and murderers.”
He smiles, motioning for me to go first. “Never a dull moment with you, that’s for sure.”
I love seeing Ava’s circle of friends and helpers expand to include more characters and can’t wait to see how they might factor in to the future stories. Her corporeal helpers Persephone and Sherlock are quite the pair and I just love Tabby and all the other supernatural characters that are in this series.
This has quickly become one of my most favorite series and I would highly recommend it to anyone! You can’t go wrong with Ava, Logan and the all the characters in Thornhollow!
