The Wedding Date Disaster
by Avery Flynn
Genre: Romantic Comedy/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 25, 2020

Hadley Donavan can’t believe she has to go home to Nebraska for her sister’s wedding. She’s gonna need a wingman and a whole lot of vodka for this level of family interaction. At least her bestie agreed he’d man up and help. But then instead of her best friend, his evil twin strolls out of the airport.
If you looked up doesn’t-deserve-to-be-that-confident, way-too-hot-for-his-own-good billionaire in the dictionary, you’d find a picture of Will Holt. He’s awful. Horrible. The worst―even if his butt looks phenomenal in those jeans.
Ten times worse? Hadley’s buffer was supposed to be there to keep her away from the million and one family events. But Satan’s spawn just grins and signs them up for every. Single. Thing.
Fine. “Cutthroat” Scrabble? She’s in. She can’t wait to take this guy down a notch. But somewhere between Pictionary and the teasing glint in his eyes, their bickering starts to feel like more than just a game…

Avery Flynn delivers her trademark sass and snark in this enemies to lovers story. There’s plenty of sparks and heat as Hadley and Will try deny their attraction and struggle to see each other for who they really are.
I really enjoyed the romance and “nice” times between Hadley and Will. When they finally put aside what they thought they knew about each other and connected it was magical. What I didn’t enjoy so much was Will – he could be such a jerk that I had a hard time connecting with him for a good part of the book…and even days after reading this book I’m still annoyed with him and I’m not sure he deserves the redemption that Hadley gave him. There were some really fun and touching moments between these two and there was no shortage of sparks, there was just a little something missing for me when it came to Will and his behavior.
What I really loved about this book was Hadley’s family. Between family game night and hanging out with PawPaw at his senior home, The Donovan-Martinez crew was everything you would want in a family. They know how to have fun, but they also know how to support each other and be there for one another. There were so many great moments between Hadley and her family, and I hope we get more from Avery Flynn with this family so we can spend more time with them!“Look, we need to get something straight.” She pulled off to the side of the road, a cloud of dust settling in their wake. “I appreciate you doing this when Web couldn’t, but his is my family. They make me nuts, but I love them.” And she did. She might live a four hour plane ride plus a five-hour drive away, but that didn’t change her feelings even one bit. “They are amazing and frustrating and some of the best people you’ll ever meet.”
She turned to face Will, needing him to see on her face just how 100 percent serious she was. “And if you do anything to make them feel bad about not being rich Harbor City high society, I’ll cut your balls off. We own cattle. I know how to do it.”
Overall, this was another great read from Avery Flynn – in spite of Will!. Her writing style and dialogue are always on point and it’s easy to get caught up in her story and characters. This is definitely one worth checking out!0
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book I received from the author.
