Will the woman he can’t resist be his downfall?

In the boardroom—and the bedroom—they’re on fire.

But will her secrets destroy them both?

Investigator Tess Lynch once helped Adam Redhawk find his Cherokee family. Now the self-made tech billionaire wants her to root out his company’s saboteur—and share his bed. But as passion builds between them, the private eye pursues a plan of her own—to get even for the way Adam’s adoptive father ruined hers. Until an unexpected pregnancy changes everything…

From Harlequin Desire: Luxury, scandal, desire—welcome to the lives of the American elite.

“You don’t do complicated. You do sex. Great sex. You do clear rules and parameters with your bed partners and nothing that lasts over a couple of months. They don’t leave happy but they leave knowing that you were honest with them.”
….and we readers laugh, and laugh, knowing just how complicated things are going to get….

Taking on the Billionaire was a fast-paced, steamy read with a bit of intrigue, a hint of betrayal, and whole lot of heart – despite both characters not looking for anything more than a short-term affair and certainly not anything that had their hearts involved!

Adam and Tess were one of those couples who had sparks flying every time they were in any sort of proximity to each other. Once they cross the line and act on that chemistry there were plenty of steamy times, but there were also so many other times where you could feel the connection between these two. I loved how Adam took care of Tess when she became sick, and it was also sweet how Tess was always offering such a great perspective on his new relationship with his two siblings he has just found (the job that he initially hired Tess for). I did think Adam’s reaction when some truths come out was a bit harsher than I expected, but I loved how things ended up and were resolved, so just like Tess, it was easy to quickly forgive and move on!
“Hey, we’ve got a friends with benefits thing going on…” He pushed off the door frame and turned to head back toward the kitchen. “Today I’m doing the friend thing. Don’t overthink it, Tess….”

“I’ve got you figured out a little, Tess. Neither one of us likes to let people take care of us but we spend most of our time taking care of everybody else.”… “Let me do this. I promise we’ll never speak of it again. It will be our secret.”
I am totally intrigued by the series arc – books that will feature Adam’s two siblings. I can’t wait to learn more about both of them. Knowing that in the next book Sarina, Adam’s sister, and his business partner, Justin, are featured has me looking forward to that February release!

Robin Covington has delivered on all fronts with her first Harlequin Desire romance. I did feel that this book had a bit of an edgier tone to it than some other books in this imprint I have read, but it totally worked for the story and the characters. Well done – a definite must for anyone looking for a quick, steamy read that checks off all the boxes of a Harlequin Desire!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book I received from the author.
