Detective Jordan Delany has a gift. Through her dreams, she connects with dead victims of violent crimes. Her isolated life as a drug cop is perfect for hiding the freakish visions, until her newest investigation has her posing as a cocktail waitress in a down-and-dirty strip club. When
she’s saved from a drunken customer by a handsome stranger, the heated chemistry is exactly why she intends to keep Mr. Arrogant at bay. But learning he’s the new bouncer for the corrupt club she intends to bust just might be the one reason why she can’t.

Tyler McGee suspects a drug ring operating out of the local club is flooding the streets of his hometown with heroin. Determined to get answers, he plays the part of a fallen cop and lands the job of head bouncer. What he discovers is that the club owner isn't the only deadly obstacle he’s facing. His attraction to an intriguing cocktail waitress with a penchant for danger just might kill him first.

This was a really good romantic suspense that was a bit slow to start for me, but picked up speed as the story progressed. Once I understood the storyline, I was curious how the dreams would play into the plot – and although I guessed at the tie in pretty early on, I wasn't disappointed how the story played out.

Jordan was all shades of messed up because of her dreams, well actually one specific dream – the one where she saw her family get murdered…and then watched it come true. She definitely has trust issues and doesn't see how she can ever let love in to her life – especially since everyone that she has loved has been taken from her and she can’t imagine anyone dealing with her dreams and not thinking she’s crazy. When she meets Tyler McGee she can’t understand the pull she has towards him, and finds herself having a very difficult time keeping her distance…which is a problem since she is on an undercover operation and can’t afford to be involved with someone who could be related to the case she is investigating. And when Tyler comes to her rescue, she can’t help but give in…and then immediately regret her decision.
She couldn't fault him for slipping out while she slept. If he’d been smart, he’d have left a long time before that, when she’d passed out behind Buck’s or when he got stuck in the ER half the night. But he hadn't. He even stayed after she snarled at him when he mentioned her parents.

And then there was the kiss. Good God, what had she been thinking?

It was pretty obvious she hadn't been thinking at all. How could she be so stupid? Head injury or not, her behavior was inexcusable. Any cop who worked undercover knew exactly how dangerous screw-ups could be. She’d screwed up big time last night.
Tyler McGee….*sigh*…Ty, you sexy man, you! You could feel the sexy come off the page whenever Ty was around! Once he sets his sights on Jordan, he is relentless and doesn't let her push him away. He’s got his own demons he’s carrying around, and his own reasons for wanting in on the investigation that Jordan is running. That being said, he knows that what he feels for Jordan isn't something he can’t just ignore. And once he realizes that Jordan is an undercover cop and not just a cocktail waitress at the bar she is working undercover at, he is eager to form a partnership with her…something he works very hard to make her agree to, in more ways than one!

There was a lot of action and suspense which kept me turning the pages, and Jordan and Tyler could definitely steam up the pages. Jordan was a bit frustrating at times, but I certainly got the fact that she had no experience dealing with the emotions she was trying to work through. All in all, a really good read!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.
