Christmas Scandal by Carmen Falcone

After doing time for a crime she didn’t commit, paramedic nurse Sydney Bell avoids trouble at all costs. Yet, trouble comes knocking on her door when a dying patient begs her to deliver a mysterious message to hunky Argentine investor Alejandro Soto.

Alejandro needs to publish the one book that will help restore his image and aid his uncle’s political campaign. It's full steam ahead until a feisty redheaded woman storms into his office and offers a clue to his biographer’s death. He’s skeptical about Sydney, and laughs it off but after she’s attacked, Alejandro realizes he has no choice but to protect her, whether she likes it or not. He can't have another death on his conscience.

A crazy attraction threatens to make Sydney surrender to her Argentine savior, but will she be ready for the Christmas scandals that will rock them along the way?

Christmas Secrets by Michele de Winton

All Gabby Phillips wants is a Christmas without drama. Fat chance. Not when the new owner of her department store is tall, dark and dangerous, Nicolas Morganti, the man she ran out on. The same man her father stole half a million dollars from and the man her body still craves in the deepest hours of the night. Now she has to keep her cool, and her biggest secret - because if he finds out he has a son, he might just take the last scrap of Christmas spirit she’s got left.

Nicolas Morganti always gets what he wants. This Christmas that includes his competitor’s huge department store chain. But when he’s told money is missing and that Gabrielle Phillips works there, it doesn’t take him long to point the finger. Nobody's ever run out on him before, and the way Gabby left was colder than a snow storm. Now it's time to settle the score. Revenge can be gift wrapped, right?

This is a Christmas romance duo with an added helping of suspense. I enjoyed both stories and loved the drama that was created from the suspense, as well as the romance that each story contained.

In Christmas Secrets by Michele de Winton, we meet Gabby who is keeping a big secret – one she is faced with revealing when her ex returns in to her life…as her new boss! I really enjoyed watching Gabby and Nicolas come together, their chemistry was off the charts and you just knew that no matter what had happened in their past and what hurt, lies and deception were between them, there was something physical between them that couldn't be denied. And of course when that secret is revealed…let's just say things got interesting!

I loved how Gabby was rebuilding her life, and in spite of the fact that the “secret baby” trope is not one of my favorites, it was hard to find fault with Gabby for her actions, especially when you take into account all of the other things going on at the time she found herself pregnant. I also enjoyed watching Nicolas constantly battle with himself, trying to justify his actions and rationalize away his feelings for Gabby – it’s always fun when the actions speak louder than the words, and watching the successful, powerful businessman totally lose control of his emotions and the situation.

In Christmas Scandal by Carmen Falcone, we are introduced to two characters who seem like such an unlikely couple – and if circumstances hadn't brought them together, it’s possible that neither of them would have ever truly found happiness.

Sydney was such a great character and written very well. With all the rotten things that have happened to her, she has a strength to her that makes you believe in her ability to persevere, yet she retains a vulnerability to her that makes you understand and accept some of her actions without having to make excuses for her. Alejandro was your typical alpha-male – always wanting to take charge…but even he is haunted by his past…and even more so when secrets are revealed that threaten the very foundation of his family. The chemistry between these two was more of a slow burn – with the issues that Sydney has and Alejandro trying to solve the mystery surrounding his biographer’s death, it was slow to start, but you could definitely feel the pull these two had towards each other.

If you are looking for a more suspenseful holiday read that still gives you a feel good at the end, then Red Hot Christmas is a must read this holiday season!

I received this book from the authors for an honest review.
