She’s an award-winning winning actress and he’s an average guy just trying to get by…

Fresh out of police officer training, newbie cop, Hunter Wilde, takes an off-duty gig working special events at the Tawnee Mountain Resort to earn a little extra cash to supplement his public servant’s salary.

Katie Lawrence is Hollywood’s hottest sweetheart. With her second Oscar win before the age of twenty-five she’s all Tinseltown is talking about.

When Katie attends a wedding at the Tawnee Mountain Resort with the notorious bad-boy Olympic gold snowboarder, Devon Black, he’s more interested in bedding the bridesmaids than he is in being with Katie.

So Katie tries to find solace in the personal security guard assigned to her by the resort…the reluctant Hunter Wilde. He’s not impressed with Katie’s stardom and he definitely doesn't want to get involved with a drama queen…but Katie manages to steal his heart when he least expects it.

This was a quick, fun read that I devoured in one sitting. I just love books like this that make me smile and keep me believing that there truly is someone out there for everyone and that happy ever afters really do exist.

The story was really very simple – two people who seem to be total opposites of one another find out that they really have a lot in common when they look beneath the surface, and despite all the external factors that “should” keep them apart, they realize that in the end, without love and each other, everything else doesn't really matter.

I’m a sucker for small towns and tight-knit families, and Old Town and the Wilde brothers were a perfect fit. I loved the family bar, Haymakers, the fact that the brothers still performed as a band together on occasion, and also the quirky, colorful characters that always seem to be residents in these small towns – Izzy being a perfect example. The family dynamic between the brothers was just awesome, and I look forward to reading the other books in the series to learn more about all of them – from their parts in this book, I can’t wait to find out more!

Although I found myself frustrated at times with Katie – hello, write your own story and play your own part, not follow the script that someone else has laid out for you – I immediately fell in love with Hunter. I loved the fact that he didn't hold back his feelings and didn't play games – definitely one of the good guys! He stood up for his principals and was there for Katie to help her feel “real” when she was beginning to lose herself in the world that had been created for her. *Sigh*, just a nice guy!

This is definitely a good book to pick up when you want a quick read with fun characters that will keep you smiling throughout.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
