Review - Make Me Up by Avery Flynn

Make Me Up
by Avery Flynn
Series: Killer Style, #3
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: February 16, 2015

Murder, mayhem and makeup.

Panty dropper, knee knocker and all-around-good time Cam Hardy leaves a trail of broken hearts wherever he goes. His lady killer reputation never bothered the private investigator until he met Drea Sanford. Getting the tough as nails make up artist in his bed proved to be the easy part. It’s keeping her there that’s harder than any of the special ops missions he’s run in South America.

Falling into Harbor City’s modern day Casanova’s bed was never on Drea’s list of smart things to do—but hotness happens, especially in the form of the six-foot-five-inch motorcycle riding Cam. Then he takes their secret affair public and she swears to never let him crinkle her sheets again. But when one of Drea’s clients is murdered and the police zero in on her, the only person she can count on is the one man she never thought she could trust.

Avery Flynn once again delivers a fun-filled, sexy story with romance, action, and suspense that leaves you smiling and wishing you could be the heroine in her next novel! In this third book of her Killer Style series, we finally get to learn just what exactly is going on between Cam and Drea…and let me tell you the two of them have some serious chemistry – even if Drea insists on keeping all the chemistry private.

Drea was so much fun. She’s wound a little tight when it comes to keeping her personal life…well, personal. Of course once you learn a little more about her it’s no surprise why she has boundaries and cherishes every bit of privacy she can get. Of course Cam seems to turn her world upside down, and even though he’s stepped over the line with a PDA and she tells him she’s done with him, Drea just can’t seem to ignore that chemistry between them.
Being near him was like standing at the edge of the subway platform as the train whooshed by – exhilarating, dangerous, and addicting on a completely visceral level.
Cam is 6’5” of cocky, alpha male who has a reputation as the Casanova of Harbor City. He has all sorts of issues from his past that have kept him from letting himself get close to anyone, but he can’t seem to get Drea out of his head. When Drea finds herself in trouble Cam doesn't even think twice before hopping on his motorcycle and riding to the rescue…of course nothing is ever easy and Cam and Drea find themselves on the run, and Cam has to pull out all the stops to keep her safe so they can clear her name.

I loved all the action and suspense in the book, and also loved watching the tension skyrocket between Cam and Drea – these two could certainly bring the heat and try as they might, it was hard for both of them to keep their hands to themselves. In typical Avery Flynn fashion, she brings the snarky banter and sexy dialogue in just the right doses to balance out the romance and the suspense.

If you like your romantic suspense filled with alpha heroes and kick-a$$ heroines, with lots of snarky, sexy banter, then this is definitely a series you will want to check out!

I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
