Broken Honor by Tonya Burrows - Release and Review Blitz and #Giveaway

Broken Honor
by Tonya Burrows
Series: HORNET, #3
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: February 24, 2015

Ice-cold and unbreakable, Travis Quinn is the HORNET team’s hard-ass. No weaknesses. Except, of course, for the accident that not only destroyed his career as a Navy SEAL, but left terrifying blanks in his memory. But Travis remembers everything about Mara Escareno—the curve of her lips, the feel of her body...and how he walked out on her suddenly six weeks ago.

Mara could never resist the dangerously sexy Travis, which is probably how she ended up pregnant and disowned by her family. But before Travis can fully process the news, Mara is kidnapped by his enemies and plunged into the violent, merciless world of human trafficking. They want Travis—and the information locked within his damaged memory—no matter the cost. And now Travis’s enemies have discovered his only weakness...Mara.

What a great read Broken Honor was! This is my first book by Ms. Burrows and it certainly will not be my last. Even though this is the third book in the HORNET series, I had no problem reading this as a standalone, but now I will have to go back and read the first two books, as well as check out her other series.

There was so much happening in this book and I loved every minute of it. Whether it was the emotional ride watching Travis and Mara struggle to find their HEA, or the fast-paced, action-filled sequences as the HORNET team try to take down a human trafficking ring and come up against some enemies, Broken Honor delivered both the romance and the suspense in hefty doses with just the right balance between the two.

Travis Quinn was my favorite kind of hero – he’s broken, scarred, and feels that his past and the baggage he carries makes him unworthy of Mara, which is why he keeps running from her when he feels himself falling for her. And before he can set things straight after finding out she is pregnant, his enemies kidnap Mara and he’ll do whatever it takes to find her and protect her. He did have me frustrated at times with the whole “I know what’s best for her and it’s not me so let me get her to hate me” thing, but once he finally realizes that Mara is it for him it was fun watching him try to convince Mara to take a chance on him.

I absolutely loved Mara and was always impressed by her strength – whether she was standing up to Travis or fighting for her life, she had an inner-strength that came out…and even when her pregnancy hormones had her going all weepy, she always managed to pull herself together and move forward.

And did I mention the chemistry between Travis and Mara? From their first scene together where Travis barely makes it through the door before he has Mara pinned against that same door, right to tender moments between the two, especially with regards to the baby, these two had some serious chemistry going on and could certainly bring the heat.

The supporting cast of the HORNET team were fabulous – and there looks to be several more stories to tell surrounding this crew. I can’t wait to read Jessie’s story next – it sounds like the heroine (who happens to be Mara’s best friend) is going to make that one real interesting!

I just love romantic suspense and Broken Honor delivered on both fronts, leaving me with a big smile on my face when I was done reading it. The characters were engaging, the plot was filled with action, romance and suspense, and I found it hard to put this one down. A definite must for your TBR list!
