Caught by @ClareJamesBooks - Guest Post and Giveaway

Today I have Clare James on the blog. She's celebrating the release of her new novel CAUGHT, which features a sexy race car driver and the PR Specialist who needs to help clean up his image. I was lucky enough to read this one, and it is certainly a fun ride!

Since we get to spend a lot of time at the racetrack in CAUGHT, I thought it would be fun to ask Clare just what she thought about Men and Their Cars - I think we all know there seems to be some bond that most men have with the vehicles they drive!

From the Desk of Clare James...

Thanks for hosting me today Margaret. So happy to be here! I’ve been out and about this week talking about my new steamy romance, CAUGHT—a story about the bad boy of racing and the woman who tries to save him.

There is a lot to love about the hero, Jarod Cage, in this book. But one thing my heroine, Viv Blake, finds absolutely irresistible is the way he handles a car.

I love the idea of looking at the man/car relationship even further. Like, why are so many men obsessed with cars? And is there any correlation between the way he treats his car and the way he treats his lady?

For Jarod, there are many similarities. He cares for his cars with respect and adoration—much like he treats Viv. He is skilled in driving in, ah, both situations. He’s an expert when it comes to the way his car responds and is attentive in the way it reacts to his every move… just like he is with Viv. And he loves to push the limits! Whew, is it getting hot in here?

What about the kind of car he drives…does that have any significance? In his personal life, Jarod Cage drives a truck and sports cars. See what that says about him, and the other men, in this snippet from

This is the "big daddy" catagory… may not be an environmentally-friendly choice, but we love the presence it gives us on the highway. Nobody is going to push us around. These are take-charge vehicles driven by the take-charge type of guy.

Honestly, no single guy would willingly choose to drive a minivan. This vehicle is a better sign that we're wearing a wedding ring. Or we're still borrowing our mom's car.

A guy who owns one of these babies wants precision driving, but still cares about status…Men who buy sedans in these brands are more conservative and conventional. If we opt for the convertible option, consider us more of a free spirit.

Truck owners are practical and down-to-earth. Count on us to be around when something needs to be done... or picked up and hauled. The truck-owning man isn't into appearances -- we care more about getting things done.

This car screams responsible. Toyota Prius owners are environmentally aware, but beware -- we may be a little bit smug about it. The Prius also operates at low cost, so men who choose this car are most likely frugal.

Subaru men are rugged and athletic. We love our sports -- skiing, boarding, surfing, biking, you name it. Women who don't love to rough it in the great outdoors should steer clear of a man driving a Subaru!

What do you think of this list? Does it ring true?

Thanks so much for stopping by today, Clare! And thanks for sharing a bit about Jarod and Viv and trying to shed some light on Men and their Cars - that list is certainly helpful!

Congratulations on the release of CAUGHT - and with the way you ended the book I'm hoping that we see another book featuring Elite Public Relations real soon!

Watching sex tapes at the office is just part of PR professional Vivian Blake's job, especially when she has to clean up a celebrity's image. Except that her newest client isn't quite that easy. Racecar driver Jarod Cage is beyond hot, and his onscreen “performance” is already compromising Viv's cool professionalism.

While Jarod hasn’t exactly been discreet about his personal life, he never thought his reputation could cost him both his sponsor and his racing career. Now he has to put his future in the hands of a tiny, pixie-like publicist. Which is becoming a problem, because the heat between them is about to redline. But when you go this hard and fast, putting on the brakes is the most dangerous thing you can do...

  1. I'm so far behind on my Brazen books. That sounds like a very yummy one.

  2. It was a fun one! These two definitely fit the Brazen mold!
